چکیده

Using Atomic Force Microscopes (AFM) to manipulate nanoobjects is an actual challenge for surface scientists. Basic haptic interfaces between the AFM and experimentalists have already been implemented. The multi-sensory renderings (seeing, hearing and feeling) studied from a cognitive point of view increase the efficiency of the actual interfaces. To allow the experimentalist to feel and touch the nano-world, we add mixed realities between an AFM and a force feedback device, enriching thus the direct connection by a modeling engine. We present in this paper the first results from a real-time remote-control handling of an AFM by our Force Feedback Gestural Device through the example of the approach-retract curve.

Magnetic Nano mineral and acid mine drainage interaction: An experimental study

In the environment, two main sources of heavy metals are natural backgrounds derived from parent rocks and anthropogenic contamination including mineral industrial wastes, tailing damps of sulfide mines, agrochemicals, and other outputs of industrial activities and factories. In this work, the physico-chemical aspects of the magnetic Nano- mineral surfaces are studied in contrast to acid mine d...

Buckling of multi wall carbon nanotube cantilevers in the vicinity of graphite sheets using monotone positive method

In this paper, a monotone positive solution is studied for buckling of a distributed model of multi walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) cantilevers in the vicinity of thin and thick graphite sheets subject to intermolecular forces. In the modeling of intermolecular forces, Van der Waals forces are taken into account. A hybrid nano-scale continuum model based on Lennard–Jones potential is applied to ...

Haptic Feedback for Virtual Reality

Haptic feedback is a crucial sensorial modality in virtual reality interactions. Haptics means both force feedback (simulating object hardness, weight, and inertia) and tactile feedback (simulating surface contact geometry, smoothness, slippage, and temperature). Providing such sensorial data requires desk-top or portable special-purpose hardware called haptic interfaces. Modeling physical inte...
